Paul Lauren Design Consultants is a firm known for serene, uncluttered spaces that are sumptuously livable. The idea that your home is a haven—a place where you should feel peaceful and happy—is at the heart of principal designer Lauren Rautbord’s trademark style of luxurious fabrics, neutral palettes, and furnishings full of warmth and personality.
Always sophisticated but never fussy, Lauren’s designs incorporate vintage and contemporary pieces alike. She believes less is always more, and that exterior views—from desert landscapes to urban lakefronts—should be embraced and enjoyed.

Lauren Rautbord
Principal/Owner
Over the past two decades, Lauren Rautbord’s easy, elegant spaces have won her a loyal clientele throughout the Upper Midwest and the Phoenix area. People appreciate her open, friendly personal style and her ability to help them discover what they really want and like. Her distinctive interiors are all the more livable thanks to her firsthand knowledge about how people and families live at different life stages.
Lauren has over 30 years of interior design experience, receiving her Associates degree from the prestigious Harrington School of Design in Chicago. She founded the firm with the late Paul Marchetti, one of Chicago’s leading style makers for decades.
While active in several key geographic markets, Lauren identified high potential to grow the firm in Scottsdale, and as a result relocated her business, which has since thrived in a market with endless opportunity.
PLD’s work has followed it’s clients to their second homes and is actively engaged in San Diego, Park City, Idaho, Texas and Montana.
Lauren is the visionary of the company; her hands-on approach through all stages of a PLD project, combined with her creative ingenuity leads to highly curated and refined living spaces. Lauren’s business strategy is to thoughtfully manage the size of PLD’s projects in order to maintain her hands on direction for every job, while enabling growth.
Kendra Vaughn
Lead Designer
Kendra Vaughn joined the PLD team in 2018 bringing her positive attitude and excellent attention to detail with her.
Although she is a native to Scottsdale, Kendra have been traveling and living oversees since the age of 5. It is these site seeing adventures that lead her to acknowledging her passion for interior and architectural details, driving her to pursue a career in Interior Design. Upon finishing her accredited design degree from Scottsdale Community College in 2008, she has work with many builders and high-end residential firms, leading to some of her work being published in Luxe and Style magazine.
Her drive to create beautiful spaces as well as her design management skills, make her a great asset here at PLD. She loves immersing herself in design process and using her creativity to help our clients achieve unique homes they can be proud of.
Annee Cooper
Architect/JR. Designer
With a professional and educational background in design and construction, Annee decided to shift gears and pursue her passion of interior design. Graduating from The University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Environmental Design & Architecture, was Annee’s first introduction into design. Going on to work for a commercial design & construction firm, she realized her passion for interiors while assisting lead architects with the interior selection process for several commercial retail spaces around the US. She loved to watch the character of each tenant come to life through their finishes and furnishings.
As our Junior Designer, Annee assists with various aspects of each job such as technical drawings, renderings, client presentations, and vendor management. Annee joined Paul Lauren in April of 2021 shortly after moving from the Midwest, excited at the opportunity to work on the beautiful homes created at PLD.
Zoe Peterson
Design Assistant
Zoe joined the Paul Lauren Design Consultants team in April of 2021 shortly after gaining her interior design certificate from the American Institute of Interior Design in Fountain Hills, Arizona. The previous year, Zoe graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a Business Administration degree while also captaining the NCAA women’s soccer team at the school; providing her with organizational, communicative, and accountability skills she brings to our team.
Zoe found a passion in interior design as she grew up watching her father work as a contractor. Her dad has always been a role model to her and following in his footsteps in the home design industry has always been a dream of hers. She has gained experience through her studies at AIID and with her internship with an Arizona custom home builder. As our Design Assistant, Zoe works around the office in all aspects of the design process to help guarantee the job gets completed seamlessly.
Barb Anderson
Business Manager
Barbara Anderson joined Paul Lauren Design Consultants with an extensive background in book keeping and project management.
Barbara’s first introduction to the design industry started when she worked for Herman Miller as a sales representative. While at Herman Miller she worked closely with the design staff and project management team.
Her other positions include:
Billing, procurement and scheduling for a large equine veterinary practice and breeding facility. Prior to that she was the office manager for a nonprofit organization. While at this position she was in charge of the finances, marketing and fund raising.
Barb’s attention to detail, communication and organization ensure our projects run as smooth as possible.
